Recently, Guangdong issued a three-year plan to digitalize the development of the Guangdong-Hong Kong-Macao Greater Bay Area (GBA), so as to build GBA into one of the world's highest level of digital bay area, according to a press conference held by the Information Office of the People's Government of Guangdong Province on November 21.
The Guangdong-Hong Kong-Macao Greater Bay Area (Greater Bay Area) comprises the two Special Administrative Regions of Hong Kong and Macao, and the nine municipalities of Guangzhou, Shenzhen, Zhuhai, Foshan, Huizhou, Dongguan, Zhongshan, Jiangmen and Zhaoqing in Guangdong Province. The total area is around 56 000 km 2.
On 1 July 2017, witnessed by President Xi Jinping, the National Development and Reform Commission and the governments of Guangdong, Hong Kong and Macao signed the Framework Agreement on Deepening Guangdong-Hong Kong-Macao Cooperation in the Development of the Greater Bay Area in Hong Kong.
