In addition to the already mentioned charging stations, Bahrain is expanding its network of electric vehicle (EV) charging stations significantly. The Ministry of Electricity and Water Affairs (EWA) has partnered with ABB to install five new fast charging stations.
In April 2021, Bahrain inaugurated its first electric car charging station at the Atrium Mall in Saar! The initiative, launched by the Minister of Electricity and Water Affairs Wael bin Nasser Al Mubarak and EWA's CEO Shaikh Nawaf bin Ibrahim Al Khalifa, marked a significant step towards achieving the Bahrain Economic Vision 2030.
The price of electricity in Bahrain is 0.048 U.S. Dollar per kWh for households and 0.077 U.S. Dollar for businesses (March 2023), including all components of the electricity bill such as the cost of power, distribution, and taxes.
