3. Grace Solar (BYMEA Group) Global solar mounting specialist Grace Solar ranks among Portugal's top solar companies, bringing extensive international expertise to the Portuguese market.
According to the Swedish giant, the SOLSTRÅLE solar panel solution (as the product is called) will enable Portuguese people and residents in Portugal to save up to 50% on their electricity bills and minimise carbon emissions into the atmosphere. Prices start at 1,690 euros.
On 9 October 2021, the largest solar power plant in Portugal was inaugurated in Alcoutim. With an installed capacity of 219 MW, the power plant has 661,500 solar panels and can power the needs of 200,000 homes. It occupies an area of 320 hectares and will prevent the emission of 326,000 tons of carbon dioxide every year.
The pursuit of economic viability by storage facility owners will inherently lead to charging during low-cost hours and discharging during hours that are more economically attractive. Storage can replace thermal generation in constraint markets, easing the grid and supporting Portugal's 2040 phase-out target.
