It has 2 thermal units of 425 MW, which use natural gas as fuel, and with a total electric power of 850 MW. It is owned by the multinational company Gas Natural.
The Casablanca Solar Power Plant – Thermal Energy Storage System is a 50,000kW molten salt thermal storage energy storage project located in Talarrubias, Badajoz, Spain. The thermal energy storage battery storage project uses molten salt thermal storage storage technology.
The Caceres Solar Power Plant – Thermal Energy Storage System is a 50,000kW molten salt thermal storage energy storage project located in Caceres, Valdeobispo, Extremadura, Spain. The thermal energy storage battery storage project uses molten salt thermal storage storage technology. The project will be commissioned in 2013.
Project locations are spread across much of Spain, with notable concentrations in Castilla-La Mancha, Castilla y León, Extremadura, the Valencian Community, Catalonia and Andalusia, along with isolated projects in Aragón, Galicia and Asturias.
