China's PV installations therefore remain robust, with added capacity forecast at 310 GW for 2025 – half of expected global solar installations. Wind is not as influenced by the new policy as solar and storage, due to longer lead times.
Prices have dropped significantly, but quality varies widely across suppliers and system types. A complete 5kW solar system in China costs ¥15,000-¥30,000 ($2,100-$4,200), with Tier-1 panels from Longi or Jinko at ¥0.9-¥1.3 ($0.13-$0.18) per watt. Installation adds 10-20% to the total price.
China's annual solar energy installations grew to 10 MW installed in 2006, increasing China's total installed solar energy capacity to 80 MW. Annual solar energy installations continued to grow, with 20 MW of capacity installed in 2007 and 40 MW installed in 2008.
