International PV module prices, driven by Chinese averages, will likely rise from $0.08/W to $0.10/W today to $0.11/W by the end of 2025 and potentially $0.13/W by 2027, says Clean Energy Associates (CEA), noting that heterojunction and back-contact technologies now make up 12% of global module capacity.
BC module prices in China will be added and split into ground-mounted and C&I segments from June 2025. Weekly spot price report for 182mm modules will be based on the 182*182-210mm format from June 2024 onwards due to the slim price gap among varying formats.
CEA said that China currently has 1,040 GW of operational module capacity, up from 996 GW at the end of 2024 but below its 2025 outlook of 1,218 GW.
The collective rush to install has led to a surge in module prices. After the winning bid prices of leading companies rose, second- and third-tier manufacturers also followed suit, fueling a spiral of rising prices. For example, the transaction price of BC modules, which reached RMB0.75/W, had risen by more than 20% since the beginning of the year.
