Defined standards for measuring both the performance of flow battery systems and facilitating the interoperability of key flow battery components were identified as a key need by industry.
Flow Batteries Europe represents flow battery stakeholders with a united voice to shape a long-term strategy for the flow battery sector. We aim to provide help to shape the legal framework for flow batteries at the EU level, contribute to the EU decision-making process as well as help to define R&D priorities.
To conclude, we call on the Commission to continue supporting the flow battery industry – a leading example of clean tech – as a way to meet the Green Deal objectives. Flow Batteries Europe (FBE) represents flow battery stakeholders with a united voice to shape a long-term strategy for the flow battery sector.
We extend our congratulations to European policymakers for embracing one of our advocacy priorities: including flow batteries in the crucial sustainability provisions of the Batteries Regulation, such as the Battery Passport and the declaration of carbon footprint calculation.
In summary, flow batteries offer a combination of scalability, flexibility and sustainability benefits that make them suited to support the integration of renewable energy sources into power systems.
