Frontiers | Coupling coordination of the provision of medical
Materials and methods: Based on panel data from 11 provinces and municipalities in the Yangtze River Economic Belt, covering the period from 2010 to 2020, this study conducted
The results provide theoretical support for strategic healthcare resource allocation and patient flow regulation, especially in regions like the Yangtze River Economic Belt, characterized by diverse economic, social, and geographical features. We also acknowledge several limitations of this study.
For the high-value Yangtze River Delta area, leveraging its strong industrial foundation and innovative resources is critical. This involves developing key sectors, such as integrated circuits and emerging fields like artificial intelligence and quantum computing, through pilot research areas and industrial hubs.
The average resilience index value of the Yangtze River Delta region remained above 0.4, while that of other provinces was generally below 0.2. The spatial distribution of resilience shifted significantly during the study period, with marked improvements observed in all the regions.
The Yangtze River Economic Belt (YREB), a key strategic development zone in China, exemplifies the need for collaborative medical resource development. With its diverse geographic, economic, and social characteristics, the YREB reflects challenges similar to those faced by other regions worldwide dealing with healthcare inequalities.
