Server racks are structures which are designed to house and organise networking equipment. Server rack enclosures are primarily used for holding servers, but they also house other network devices such as routers and cables. Server racks can be both freestanding or in wall mount form and are often used as a computer server rack or data rack.
Server racks are typically measured in rack units (U), where each unit is 44.5 mm tall. The most common server rack heights are 1U, 2U, 3U, and 4U, but half racks are also available, offering the same height but half the width. Cabinet Sizes:- Small Data Cabinets: Ideal for 1U to 10U server racks.
There are many names for these racks including server racks, data centers, server rack enclosures and 19” racks. A server rack is used to not only secure servers and communication equipment but also to save space, provide cooling and power distribution.
