NHPC Invites Bids for 1.2 GW Solar Power Projects with Energy Storage
NHPC Limited has announced a tender for the selection of Solar Power Generators (SPGs) to establish 1.2 GW of ISTS-connected solar power projects, incorporating Energy Storage
In February, the Solar Energy Corporation of India (SECI) commissioned India's largest Battery Energy Storage System (BESS), powered by solar energy.
The Indian state-owned utility NHPC has launched a tender for the development of 1.2 GW of ISTS solar PV capacity with 600 MW/1,200 MWh battery energy storage systems (BESS) across India, with an additional 1.2 GW of PV capacity with BESS under a greenshoe option. Bids can be submitted until 18 October 2024.
NHPC has allocated 1.2 GW of solar with 600 MW/1,200 MWh of storage projects at an average tariff of INR 3.09 ($0.036)/kWh. From pv magazine India NHPC has revealed the results of a tender to select developers for 1.2 GW of grid-connected solar projects. NTPC Renewable Energy secured the largest slice of 300 MW by quoting INR 3.09/kWh.
The India One Solar Thermal Energy Storage System is a 1 MW solar thermal power plant located in Abu Road, Rajasthan, India. It uses thermal energy storage to provide round-the-clock power. Commissioned in 2017, the project was designed, developed, and installed by Brahma Kumaris and the World Renewal Spiritual Trust (WRST).
