Spatiotemporal patterns and drivers of coupling coordination
Based on panel data at the prefecture-level city scale from 2011 to 2022, this paper explores the spatiotemporal patterns and driving factors of the coupling coordination
In September 2016, the Guidelines on Building the Economic Development Belt along the Yangtze River was officially issued, establishing a new development pattern of “one axis, two wings, three poles, and multiple points” for the Yangtze River Economic Belt.
Relying on the golden waterways to promote the development of the Yangtze River Economic Belt helps blaze a path of ecological priority and green development. It helps optimize the industrial structure and urbanization layout along the Yangtze River, build new land-sea corridors for opening up, and implement the Belt and Road Initiative.
This process can be guided by regional initiatives such as the Yangtze River Delta Industrial Transfer Demonstration Zones and the Chengdu-Chongqing Advanced Manufacturing Collaboration Zone, supporting the formation of multi-layered and multi-centered industrial networks.
Currently, the Yangtze River Delta demonstrates strong technological spillover and industrial coordination capacities, while the middle and upper reaches lag behind in innovation diffusion and industrial upgrading. Bridging these gaps requires enhancement of regional linkages and innovation ecosystems.
